A MESSAGE ONLY YOU COULD MAKE

More than a gift.
A little piece of you.

Say what another year together has meant. Retell the story of how you met. Or read the promises you still mean. A recording doesn’t have to be old to be worth keeping.

A spectrogram turns the frequencies in your recording into colour over time. Your voice shapes the image; you choose the colours that feel at home.

This is a visual keepsake. The artwork doesn’t play sound or store a recoverable copy of your recording. Keep your original audio, too.

A little help finding the words

“My favourite memory of us this year is…”
“One thing I love about you is…”
“For the years ahead, I promise…”

Speak naturally. A short, specific memory means more than a perfect speech.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW

Your moment.
Your questions.

Can I use an existing recording?

Yes. Choose an audio file, such as a voice memo or a recording of your wedding vows. For a video, save its audio track first: this tool accepts audio, not video. If your browser can’t open an M4A file, try exporting MP3 or WAV. A videographer may be able to provide the audio track.

What if I don’t know what to say?

Start with one real detail: a favourite memory from this year, something you love about them, or a promise for the next chapter. Use “Record a message” to speak for up to 60 seconds, then listen before making the artwork. You can record again until it feels right.

Can both of our voices be in one piece?

Yes. Choose an excerpt containing both voices in a single file. The artwork represents everything audible in that excerpt, including music and background noise. It doesn’t separate speakers or remove noise.

Is this the same as a soundwave?

A waveform shows changing amplitude over time. A spectrogram shows how energy at different frequencies changes over time. Both can represent a recording; this artwork uses a spectrogram for its layered colour and texture.

Can we listen to the recording?

You can listen to the selected excerpt in the creator and download your audio separately. The image itself does not play sound, and this site does not host a playback page or provide a QR code. Keep both your artwork and audio somewhere you trust.

Do you keep our recording?

Your recording and personalised artwork are processed in this browser and aren’t uploaded to us. Clear them with the button in the creator or close the page. Downloaded files remain wherever you save them. See our Privacy Policy for website and support data.

Can I order a metal print here?

No. The creator and digital download are available free. We don’t take physical print orders or payments on this site. You can take your artwork to a print shop and ask them to confirm size, bleed, colour and finish.

The words were yours.
Let the art be, too.
